Weekend Guide: Nashville
Somehow I made a guide on Instagram and forgot to compile everything in a blog post! So, here goes! This is all from my trip to visit my BFF in Nashville in November of 2020 – shoutout to Southwest for the cheap airfare!
Where to Eat
Breakfast/Brunch/Coffee:
Ugly Mugs Coffee and Tea
I love a good fall drink so I ordered a bonfire latte that was to die for and one of the best blueberry muffins I’ve ever had! If you’re by one of their locations, stop in!
Donut Distillery
If it’s miniature size, it’s automatically better – right?? These bite sized donuts are so fun! We ordered 2 of their three-packs so we could try six different flavors. That’s definitely the way to go if you want to try multiple donuts!
Barista Parlor
We were definitely on a coffee shop kick over the weekend while I was in town but my bff picked the BEST spots to visit!
Lunch or Dinner:
The Mockingbird
After we ate dinner here, I texted my husband that I had just eaten the best burger I’ve ever had. I may have exaggerated a little but their burger was TOP NOTCH. They also have some fun adult drink pouches aka Punchin’ Bag cocktails that you need to try when you visit! You can choose the type of alcohol to mix with their nightly punch.
Hampton Social Nashville
I think there is more hype for the brunch here but we ate a light late lunch to save room for dinner. Their chicken caesar salad was really good and although we didn’t order drinks at this meal, we saw some come from the bar that are an instagrammer’s dream and almost too pretty to drink! Don’t forget to take a picture in their lobby in front of their floral wall or the wooden planters.
Pancho & Lefty’s
This was our first stop after I got picked up from the airport! They have two locations: Sylvan Park and Downtown. They have a little bit of everything on their menu – I tried the tacos and queso and they were both very good!
Five Points Pizza
After a long day of hiking we didn’t want to get all dolled up to go anywhere so we ordered pizza and went to pick it up to spend a night in watching movies! 10/10 recommend if you’re in Nashville and craving pizza – we went with a basic pepperoni but it was really good!
Hugh Baby’s
This is my friend’s usual Sunday stop so we ate here before she dropped me off at the airport! I loved the old-time diner feel when I walked in. I ordered a BBQ burger with no grilled onions and decided that more burger joints need this on their menu! They have 3 locations in Nashville so if you’re by one, be sure to stop in!
Dessert:
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream
If you haven’t eaten at Jeni’s, you’re missing out! They just opened one in Dallas not too long ago but Nashville was the first place I tried it! It absolutely lived up to the hype. I tried the ever so popular Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and it was a good thing I didn’t have a whole gallon because I would have eaten the whole dang thing!
Things to do
Stone Door Hiking Trail
While we basically ate our way through the city and didn’t do any of the basic touristy things like go out on Broadway, we did go hiking and the view + the drive were 100% worth it! The pictures don’t even do it justice.
